Search Bill Text Start here by entering the Search Bill Text here by entering in word or phrase like "Abortion" or "Marriage." To find text information faster choose the bill number option. If you are looking for a bill before the U.S House of Representatives enter H.R. followed by the number. If you are looking for a bill before the U.S. Senate enter S. followed by the number. Browse Bills By Sponsor Under the Bill Text Option is the Browse Bills By Sponsor option. You can use this option by selecting a Representative in the U.S. House or a Senator in the U.S. Senate. This option will help understand the bills that your elected representatives have directly sponsored Bill Text Page When you type in the number of a current bill like the "We The People Act H. R. 4379" before the U.S House of Representatives, the THOMAS on the internet will link you directly to the text of the pending bill. Bill Summary & Status This page has most everything you will look for when researching a pending bill before the U.S. Congress. On the top of the Bill Text page you will see a header that lists the following information: GPO's PDF Display, Congressional Record References and Bill Summary & Status. Click on Bill Summary & Status to get details of the bill you are referencing. Sponsor Found on the Bill Status and Summary page, this page highlights the representative who introduced the bill and links you directly to other bills currently that he or she has introduced. Cosponsors Found on the Bill Status and Summary page, this page highlights the number of representative who have endorsed the pending bill by cosponsoring the pending bill. All Cosponsors are listed in Alphabetical order by date of cosponsorship. This page also highlights and cosponsors who have withdrawn their support for a bill. All Information Found on the Bill Summary & Status page, the All Information page includes all information on: Summary, Major Actions, All Actions, Titles, Cosponsors, Committees, Related Bill Details, Amendments for the bill in question. Title(s) This option found on the Bill & Summary page gives the Short Title and the Official Title of the Bill as introduced to the U.S House or Senate. Text Of Legislation To read the entire text of the Bill you are researching, click on the Text Of Legislation found on the Bill Summary & Status Page. Subjects This option found on the Bill & Summary page gives all CRS Index Terms for the bill in question are listed here. CRS Summary This is a brief summary of the bill that has been introduced to the U.S. House or U.S. Senate. This page is a good reference when first looking up information on a pending bill and can be found on the Bill & Summary page. Committees(s) This page found on the Bill & Summary page confirms the committee(s) that the bill has been referred to and its latest activity. All Congressional Actions This page confirms all Congressional actions taken by either the U.S. House, U.S. Senate or both on pending bills. This page can be referenced through the Bill & Summary page.
